You Are Meant To Succeed by Jill CelesteIt may not look like it now, but you are meant to succeed.

Let’s face it: Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. Rejection, income dips, marketing flops, a lack of support at home – these are all things that can make you feel less than successful.

These obstacles can quickly become road blocks, even detours, causing you to question why you’re in business at all.

In this week’s marketing strategy, I’ll break down why you don’t feel like a success. I hope you’ll bookmark this blog post for days when you need this assurance.

It starts with mindset (of course), but here’s the good news: You are in complete control of your mindset. You can change it at a moment’s notice.

Let’s dig a little deeper – and unearth three main reasons why you don’t have a success mindset.

Leave the how to The Universe. - Jill Celeste

BLOG:

You are on this Earth for a reason, which means that The Universe is maneuvering things in your best interest.

You are uniquely wired to succeed. That’s what happens when you are a Divine Being (and trust me, you are).

While we are Divine, we are also human. With egos. And resistance. And less than saintly virtues.

These human qualities interfere with our feelings of success. It’s our job as changemakers to shift our focus when our humanness interferes with our success. Let’s start with a big one: impatience.

We are impatient as hell

Patience is one of the most important entrepreneurial virtues, but truth be told: Didn’t we want our millionaire status yesterday?

Humans are impatient. That’s why we honk our horns in traffic and fast forward through commercials on the DVR.

When you are feeling impatient, as in success isn’t happening quickly enough, I want you to remember a seed.

A seed gets planted in soil, and through a careful mix of sunlight, water, and fertilizer, the seed breaks through as a tiny stem. With more water, fertilizer, and sunlight, it becomes a plant. Add more water and sunlight, it begins to blossom, attracting beautiful butterflies and buzzing bees.

Does that seed become a flowering plant overnight? Nope. It takes time and patience.

You are a seed, too. You need lots of water, sunlight, food, and good thoughts before the good stuff blossoms. Take a lesson from that little seed and stay patient. The good stuff is coming.

We are focused too much on the how

How will I make more money? How will I get more clients? How will I get all this done?

How, how, HOW?

Knowing “how” is a control mechanism. We want to know “how” so we can control the next step. That feels successful to us.

However, we are not in control of the how. Even the most carefully laid plans can go astray.

I say: Leave the how to The Universe.

When you detach from the how, you’ll feel more successful. Why? Because you’ll stop resting your laurels on something you have no control over.

We feel like shit if we fail

Step right up if you’re a control enthusiast with a perfectionist streak…

We are raised in a culture where failing feels bad. Get an F on a test, and you “fail” the course. Park your car crooked and you “fail” the driving test.

Our fear of failure is a learned trait, which means we can unlearn it, too.

Here’s my favorite way to handle failure: I think of failures as lessons. Instead of failing, I am learning. And I love to learn! Learning is fun!

See how I went from “icky failing” to “fun learning”?

You need to reframe your feelings about failure. Everything you do is a success. Sometimes that success is a priceless lesson you can apply in the future.

Stop being so hard on yourself. Fail a little. Learn a lot.

Dear Celestial One, see? You are meant to succeed. You have the tools you need for success. You just have to work on your success mindset. Be more patient. Detach from the how. And shift how you perceive “failure.”

If you can do these three things, you too will believe that you are meant for success. As Esther Hicks says, “Achieving success is your natural birthright.” Believe it! I am rooting for you.

ABOUT JILL

Hi, I’m Jill Celeste. I teach purpose-driven entrepreneurs (just like you) everything you need to know about marketing so you can become the Director of Marketing for your business.

Because when you put your Director of Marketing hat squarely on your head, marketing is your number one priority (which will result in more clients!).

When I am not teaching about marketing, you’ll find me hanging out with my husband or my teenage boys, or taking a nap with my basset hound, Emma. I also like to play with my two kittens and feed the backyard ducks (much to my neighbor’s chagrin).

If you’re feeling alone in your entrepreneurial journey, I invite you to check out my monthly membership group, The Celestial Circle. Affordable, loving, supportive, informative, and fun – that’s how we roll in The Celestial Circle. We would love to welcome you!
