MEET MARGARET:
Why did you start your business?
I always want to be a teacher when I was little, and while I was in college realized that meant being in a classroom with kids every day for a year – not my cup of tea! Changed my focus to business management.
After my divorce, I tried to figure out what I was going to do as I had previously done bookkeeping, accounts payable, payroll, and run a seminar business.
After some miscellaneous jobs, a friend introduced me to training via the DiSC profile certification (see I got to do teaching after all), and shortly there after was introduced to Coaching. I completed my Coach Certification via cutting edge technology of the time (90’s) via email & phone (yes, there were long-distance fees too).
There were not any companies hiring coaches or many trainers, it was a natural next step. I had helped my husband set up his practice and managed the business aspect so I had an understanding of what it takes.
Who are your ideal clients? Who do you heal or help?
I love working with really awesome women to Re-Design their lives, and I have two focuses:
1) Re-Design Your Life for Women 50’s, 60’s. 70’s who hunger for a fulfilling life – uncover their passions, discover what’s next, and create and implement a plan.
2) Re-Design Your Life for Ex-Wives of Professionals – Physicians | Dentists | Physicians – Many whom have experienced emotional and financial abuse, gaslighting, and have lost their self-confidence. Learn how to heal in months what it took me years to accomplish.
Also – people in Career Transition who need an updated resume or LinkedIn profile – 15 years of experience as a Certified Career Consultant.
How do you help your ideal clients?
As a Re-Design Your Life Coach, I help them uncover what’s holding them back, uncover what’s next after retirement or the kids go to college – it’s a little different for each client, but they increase their self- confidence and joy in life. As Resume & LinkedIn editor, I help people put their best foot forward to help them shine!
What’s been your biggest accomplishment in the past six months?
Uncovering the some of the work I did many years ago providing seminars on professionalism and how to be an effective spouse in the husband’s office and get along with the staff.
I had put that aside for many years and rediscovered it in Nancy Linnerooth’s MVP – Mindset | Visibility | Profitability program.
Taking what I was doing years ago and put a twist on it, launching the Re-Deign Your Life for Ex-Wives of Professionals – Dentists | Physicians | Attorneys | Military.
In discussing with a long-time friend who was a successful dental consultant who was also married to a career military man, reminded me of some of the challenges many of those ex-spouses go through.
I’m very excited about this program and it still under a little refinement yet, my consultant friend thinks a great idea!
What do you love the most about Celestial University?
People – getting to meet and get to know (as best you can) from all across the US and even in Europe is awesome.
I really enjoy Virtual Networkers – the speakers provide great information plus the support all of us have for each other is wonderful!
I also enjoy the Mind/Soul track – love the information provided there and learning during our Q&A time.
I highly recommend both areas!
Why have you remained a member of Celestial University?
People – meet and get to know people, support and purchasing members products and or services. It’s fun!
Plus I don’t have to buy meal, provide a specific number of referrals, but I can dress in shorts or jeans and attend barefoot! 🙂
How would you describe your business, marketing, and/or mindset before joining Celestial University?
I was knowledgeable of marketing, networking and have had a website since the 90’s. Knew my marketing needed some improvement and that I wanted to connect with more people.
How would you describe your business, marketing, and/or mindset now that you’re a part of Celestial University?
Business and marketing have improved, I appreciate the subjects we cover in the Mind/Soul track.
With Virtual Networkers, I get attend more chapters, connect with many more people and not use lots of time and gas!
I am grateful for the support and business opportunities that have come from the various members.
