What is a Loud Woman business, exactly?

Well, the cheeky side of me wants to say, “Whatever the hell you want it to be.”

I know, I know, somewhat helpful.

While there’s truth in creating a Loud Woman business that’s what you want it to be, I want to dig a little deeper.

Striving to have a Loud Woman business may not be on your radar, but I’m hoping to nudge it there. Why? Because women entrepreneurs are here to change the world, and in order to do so, we must be Louder.

That’s where running a Loud Woman business comes in.

So, in this blog post, I will share four ways you can tell that you have a Loud Woman business with journal prompts to help you explore this topic further. If you have all four, fantastic! If you don’t, that’s okay. Now you know where to aim.

#1: Your Loud Woman business fulfills your purpose

Loud Women know they are on this earth to change the world—whatever that looks like. For entrepreneurs, this means your business fulfills some sort of purpose. That could be in how you help people through your business, such as being a life coach or graphic designer. Or it may be that your business gives you the funds and means to fulfill your purpose in other ways. Ideally, it does both!

Journal Prompt: What is your purpose on this earth, and how is your business helping you achieve your purpose?

#2: Your business works on your terms

Are you working your business, or is your business working you?

If it’s the latter, think about how you can establish boundaries, implement marketing tasks that you enjoy working on, outsource the stuff you hate to do, or manage your energy levels.

Journal Prompt: What am I tolerating in my business? The answers you respond with are a big clue on how you can change your business so it works on your terms.

#3: You’re getting paid what you are worth

In my book Loud Woman, I talk about the U.S. National Women’s Soccer team’s fight for equal pay. Despite their record crowds, revenue draw, and huge popularity, they still were grossly underpaid for their work, compared the salaries of their male counterparts. The soccer players took it to court and eventually won. Now that’s a Loud Woman move!

Be inspired by these amazing women athletes and take a hard look at your pricing.

Journal Prompt: How can you raise your prices so you are being compensated for your gifts and the timeless results you give your clients? What resistance do you feel about raising your prices?

#4: You are supported

Loud Women business owners are supported. This support can come in different ways, such as:

  • A partner who supports your entrepreneurial journey.

  • A virtual assistant who gets her assigned tasks done so you can focus on other parts of your business.

Journal Prompt: In what ways do I need to be fully supported as a business owner?

Being a Loud Woman business owner should be a gratifying and enriching experience. If how you’re running your business feels out of alignment, make a change. Experiment and see what feels right to you! And know that: You are here to change the world! Make sure your business works for you so you can lean into your divine gifts and purpose.
