Virtual Networkers

Jill Celeste,
Founder of Virtual Networkers

It’s a question I get often: What should I wear to a Virtual Networkers meeting?

Women entrepreneurs often think about what to wear because:

  • We are networking from home
  • We will be on camera
  • People will only see us from the waist up
  • We have been conditioned that our self-worth is tied to our appearance

I’ve been running virtual networking meetings since 2016, and I’ve seen it all! So, let’s discuss what you should wear to a Virtual Networkers (or any virtual networking) meeting. Ready?

Are you wondering what to wear to a Virtual Networkers meeting?

I’ve got the answer: Anything you want!

Find a networking group that cherishes you, not your clothes, hairstyle, or mascara. So wear what you want—whether that’s your workout clothes or a business suit. You be you, the way you want to present yourself.

Many women entrepreneurs shy away from virtual networking because of their appearance. Let’s face it: We are working from home. Most of us are wearing T-shirts and have our hair in ponytails. You may feel like you need to get snazzy to attend a meeting, but here’s the truth:

Your networking group should care about YOU, not what you’re wearing.

At Virtual Networkers, we want to see you, even if your hair is wet, you don’t wear makeup, or you’re wearing a sports bra. Honestly, none of us care. We care about you, your heart, and your Gifts—not your appearance.

I do have a “pro tip” for you: Go to Canva and use their T-shirt design tool to add a logo to a shirt. You can order it right from their site. This may help you feel less guilty about wearing a T-shirt to a networking meeting!

At the end of the day, you are a Loud, badass woman entrepreneur. The guys don’t worry about what they’re wearing—why should you?
